Mightex Systems developed and produced BLS-series BioLED light sources or microscope LEDs are modularized fully-customizable turn-key solutions for fluorescence excitation.

Several single-bandwidth (up to 8 or more) LEDs can be combined and coupled into the epifluorescence port of most major microscope models. This is done by connecting the microscope LEDs to multi-wavelength beam combiners, using dichroic mirrors and beamsplitters to direct light from all LEDs into the epifluorescence port of the microscope.

 Optimised Intensity Levels

Mightex BLS-series collimated microscope LED light sources employ the latest high-power LED technologies and optimised coupling optics to achieve maximum optical output power.

In conjunction with these optimised aspects, the proprietary “IntelliPulsing” technology implemented in the BioLED control modules enable the LEDs to output approximately double the amount of light compared to what is available in continuous wave (CW) mode.

 Superb Stability

The BioLED control module features a linear microscope LED driver design that eliminates light intensity ripples and oscillations often observed when low-cost nonlinear drivers are used.

 Flexible Control

Clean and highly repeatable pulses are critical to quantitative experiments. Both CW mode and pulse modes are supported. Time resolution of the control module is 20us and light intensity can be adjusted with 0.1% increments. Each driving channel on the control module has its own TTL trigger input. Rising edge, falling edge, and follower mode are supported in the trigger mode.

The control module can be operated without being connected to a computer. Once pulse sequences are programmed and stored into the control module (by the user through supplied software), the light source can operate alone without a computer. All it needs is a TTL trigger signal to output the user-programmed pulse sequences.

Mightex BioLED light source solutions come with a Windows-based operation software featuring an intuitive yet powerful graphic user interface. A software development kit (SDK) is also provided for user integration into environment such as Labview and Matlab.

 Beamsplitter Adjustments

The mirror holders in the beamsplitters can be adjusted to optimise alignment of your optical system, and each input port can accommodate a bandpass filter to clean up the LED spectrum.

This means you can eliminate cross-talk between different microscope LED excitation bands.
